It has been an exciting week! We told our friends and families we were expecting through a Christmas card (and Facebook post!) which was lots of fun. We told everyone a bit sooner than we had originally planned. My mom and dad slipped and told a few of their friends because they were so excited, and I thought some friends at work were starting to get suspicious! So we just decided to go ahead and share the news. Here is a picture of the Christmas card we sent out:
And here is a picture of what we posted on FB - our furry baby, Maggie, announcing her new role as big sister!
And last but not least, my talented mom made these adorable pink and blue snowman cookies for me to take to work to announce the good news. Yum! Thanks Mom!!
I have been meaning to take a profile shot of my belly for about 6 weeks now. By the time I get home from work I feel so yucky that I don't want my picture taken, and I seem to forget on the weekends! I need to get on that so I can see the changes that will start to happen soon. :)

- How far along? 10 weeks and a few days
- Baby size: A plum
- Total weight gain: Staying strong at 3 pounds.
- Maternity clothes? Not yet. My regular pants are starting to feel just a little snug though, especially high waisted things. I don't think I am showing yet, but I definitely feel a little fuller in the stomach. It's like my waist disappeared!!
- Stretch marks? Nope.
- Sleep: Sleeping great, aside from waking up to go to the bathroom two or three times throughout the night.
- Best moment this week: Sending out our Christmas cards and posting the good news on Facebook! It is great to finally talk with all our friends about the exciting things we have going on!
- Miss anything? Not really! I am really enjoying being pregnant!
- Movement: Still none. I think that will be an incredible thing!
- Food cravings: I've been craving random non-chocolate candies like Starburst or Sour Patch Kids. It's odd because normally I am not a huge fan of any candies other than chocolate!
- Anything making you queasy or sick: Still not able to handle my morning (decaf) coffee, but I am starting to get used to no coffee in the morning. I wonder if I'll go back to it after the baby is born or not?! Also the thought of chocolate makes me cringe (so weird!).
- Gender: Can't wait to find out!
- Labor signs: No!
- Symptoms: Still tired (did I mention I just woke up from a nap?). :) Feeling very bloated, too! But overall I have to say I've felt pretty great.
- Belly button in or out? In.
- Wedding rings on or off? On.
- Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!!!
- Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound on Friday, the 21st. I can't wait to hear the heartbeat and see the baby! I still worry all the time that something will go wrong, so it's very comforting to see the baby and hear the doctor say everything looks great.
- Diabetes update: My blood sugars continue to be in good control. I had a couple highs lately which really freaked me out. I couldn't help but think I was hurting the baby, which was really upsetting! I ended up correcting by bolusing, and then was walking laps around my house to try to exercise (it was raining outside). I think my husband thought I was crazy. :) My Dexcom has been slightly off this past week, which is really tough because I rely on it heavily - especially during the school day. I called their tech support and told them about how it had been inaccurate, and they sent me a new sensor to try. I hope we can work it out, because it has been a lifesaver thus far! I can't imagine not having a Continuous Glucose Monitor now. It is so convenient to hit a button and see exactly what my blood sugar is at any given moment. It also shows me if my blood sugar is starting to go up or down, so I can correct the problem before it happens. So wonderful!
